Your body is the land, and the land holds wisdom and magic.
Nice to meet you! I’m Jes, and I talk to rocks.
I’m a somatic practitioner, coach, ancestral medium + channel, and cosmic librarian.
This means that I work with the wisdom of our bodies, help release patterns that no longer serve, connect with the dead + spirits (yep, including standing stones), and love nothing more than dropping a big ol’ stack of resources in front of you when needed.
I’m also an internationally recognized author, speaker, and advocate who comes from a background in behavioral health, body liberation, and education.
I’m a Your Emotions Will Never Scare Me rising, Precision🤝Praticality moon, and Hold Your Hand While I Cheer You On sun. Scorpio ↑, Virgo ☾, and Leo ☼, respectively. My gender is Fanny Pack Full of Moss and she/they works just fine.
I live through an animist, decolonial, and liberationist worldview.
I’ve worked in liberation spaces for the past thirteen years, first with a focus on mental health and deconstructing social body norms. I currently work to support you in restoring your relationship with yourself, your body, your ancestry, community, the more-than-human world, and spirit.
I deeply resonate with Celtic cosmology, earth-based magic, including the body in spiritual practice, and discovering ancestral ways of healing + integrating them into our daily life.
Join me in the forge anytime — I’ll keep the path lit and the door open when you’re ready to remember that you’re never alone and you’ve always belonged.
Ancestral Lineage
I am the great-grandchild of Irish and Norwegian settlers as well as a descendant of Scottish, Manx, and English settlers. I was adopted and raised by family with Mexican and German lineage. Past cultural connections also include Slavic, Nordic, and Baltic ancestry.
Queer and trans ancestors, community medicine ancestors and my Chain Smoking Grannies also have an important place in my life, team and heart.
I currently live in the Sonoran Desert on the occupied lands of the Tohono O'odham Nation and the Pascua Yaqui Tribe.
All of these places, plants, animals, guardians, guides, beings (seen + unseen), and the people who tend to them have shaped + continue to support me. I work to honor this with gratitude and reciprocity.
Lineage of Knowledge
My practices and work are largely influenced by collaboration and learning through mentors, teachers, and the powerful work of others.
Mentors I’ve learned from include Leah Garza, Marika Heinricks, Shanda Catrice, Jess Morgan Grace, Shosh , and Bitty Fennie.
Teachers who have shaped the way I practice include Kaitlyn Graña, Sharon Blackie, Bayo Akomolafe, Lora O'Brien, Orlagh Costello, Rune Hjarnø Rasmussen, Kai Cheng Thom, Sen Elias, Sanyu Estelle, Sonya Renee Taylor and many others.
This is far from an exhaustive list, and I am grateful for the work of all those named as well as those who continue to shape and co-create this world we live in.
